About San Tan Elementary
San Tan Elementary School is a neighborhood school in the Higley Unified School District serving PreK through sixth grade students. We provide a challenging and supportive learning environment for every student, including our unique Spanish Dual Language Immersion program. San Tan offers music, art, band, library, and computers on a weekly basis. We are a Leader in Me school that promotes the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in all areas of the educational experience. We believe that every student is a leader that will do great things at San Tan and in the community.
San Tan provides students with the opportunity to join clubs and other extra-curricular activities throughout the year. We invite you and your child to join us at San Tan Elementary School where together we are committed to providing a compassionate, safe and supportive learning environment to foster academic excellence for all. We believe in the whole-child.

Parents and guardians: Higley Unified School District is adopting new 6th-12th Grades English Language Arts (ELA) instructional materials for the 2027–2028 school year, and we are seeking applicants to join the District Review Committee.
The committee will meet August–December 2026 to review and evaluate curriculum options.
Applications are due by Friday, August 21, 2026.

The Higley Unified School District Governing Board meeting schedule can be found on the district website at husd.org/board-meetings. The public is welcome to attend all board meetings. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the meetings. Board Business Meetings and Work Study Sessions are livestreamed on the district YouTube channel. Please note, Points of Pride, Higley Adventures, and Requests to Speak are not included during the Work Study meetings.

Students across Higley Unified School District (HUSD) are seeing the impact of the democratic process, after School Participatory Budgeting projects from last year’s program were completed over summer break.

As students return to classrooms this school year, K-5 students will be greeted with a brand-new English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum designed to support reading, writing and literacy instruction. The new curriculum was approved last year after the district’s existing resource was discontinued from the state’s approved requirements.
