Welcome to Media Technology!
As educators, students are at the center of everything we do. Our foremost goal is to prepare them for life-long learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies. Our physical space consists of the media center and a computer lab. Technology Instruction is given by the Media Specialist who incorporates the ISTE standards aimed at 21st century learning for students.
The lessons and projects help prepare students for the future by allowing them to become effective users of information technology. Students are also given time to check out and read materials in the Media Center during their library special or right after band and orchestra for 5th and 6th grade students who don't have a library special with their homeroom class.

Checkout Policies
Students may check out books from the library, as long as they do not have an overdue or lost book or textbook from any Higley Unified School District school.
Loan Polices are as follows:
- Kindergarten - 1st grade – 1 book
- 2nd – 3rd grade – 1-2 books
- 4th – 6th grade – 1-3 books
If a student is working on a project for class, the loan amounts are increased to meet the needs of the class/student.
Due Dates
- Picture books are checked out for a week.
- Chapter books are checked out for two weeks and then will need to be brought back to be renewed.
Lost or Damaged Books
- If the book can be repaired, please give it to Mrs. Baker to fix.
- If the book is lost or damaged beyond repair and there is a fine associated with it, you can make a payment for the item(s) by going to ParentVue by clicking on Intouch Receipting. If you have already set up an account, you can log in. If you haven't created an account yet, you will need to create one using the same username and login as your ParentVue account. Once you have logged in, click on your child's name and you will find the fine under "Unpaid Fines/Fees." /Domain/793
- If there isn't a fine associated with a book that is lost or damaged, please contact Mrs. Baker laurel.baker@husd.org so she can put the fine into the system or make other arrangements with you. Once you have paid for the book, the systems will sync that evening and will no longer show up as a fine and your child will be allowed to check out again.
- If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Baker via the emails above.
